Abstract: Step into the shoes of diverse learners in this hands-on, interactive session that blends empathy, design, and research. Participants will engage in immersive role-play activities to experience the classroom from the perspective of students with ADHD, sensory processing differences, and physical limitations.
Grounded in current educational research and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, this session highlights how flexible, movement-friendly classrooms can boost focus, reduce anxiety, and increase engagement. Learn how thoughtful design choices—like adaptable layouts, sensory zoning, and accessible furnishings—create inclusive, student-centered environments that support both cognitive and social-emotional well-being.
Whether you’re an architect, educator, or school leader, you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of how space shapes learning—and practical strategies to transform classrooms into places where all students can thrive.
