Abstract: Many schools build inspiring spaces—then struggle with daily operations: Which devices belong to which zone? How do we prevent distraction, ensure age-appropriate access, and keep data protection intact while letting students move freely between environments?
This workshop introduces a repeatable design method: define learning modes (Focus, Collaborate, Create, Explore, Reset), translate each mode into spatial cues (layout, lighting, acoustics, color/texture, open-ended materials), and add a digital layer so student devices instantly match the room.
Using Relution MDM as an example, we show how schools can centrally manage and protect devices across platforms and implement classroom-ready use cases (structured lessons vs. open exploration, shared device sets vs. 1:1). We’ll discuss practical building blocks such as streamlined onboarding and enrollment approaches and how governance can support teacher facilitation without over-restricting creativity.
To make these environments sustainable, we connect the dots to operations and governance: with Eduneon, districts/authorities can keep room-level inventories, procurement plans, and device fleets aligned—via integrations that synchronize data from MDM systems like Relution.
Participants leave with a zone-to-device mapping template, a policy checklist (privacy, minors’ protection, app governance), and an implementation roadmap that works for makerspaces, early learning, outdoor learning, and project-based studios.
Learning Objectives:
Educational Visioning
Facilitating the translation of educational goals/vision into school design requirements.
Norman has worked in school administration for over 20 years, with a strong focus on planning and delivering school buildings and learning environments. As a long-time planner of educational facilities and learning spaces, he connects pedagogy, spatial design, and day-to-day operations to create learning rooms that truly work in practice. Since 2026, he has also been active as an “education enabler,” author, and speaker—sharing actionable frameworks for designing alternative learning environments and making them sustainable through smart digital operations, including the intentional use of MDM solutions such as Relution or Eduneon-supported planning and inventory processes.
