Abstract: When the environment around us changes, often we feel challenged and threatened, but for teachers to thrive in a new learning environment they need to feel confident and capable. Unfortunately the focus of many construction projects is the preparation of the buildings themselves rather than the people who are going to inhabit and use those buildings. This session will draw from the latest change leadership research to offer administrators and school leaders a process they can follow to prepare educators to successfully transition into new spaces, helping them to take advantage of new opportunities rather than focusing on ‘the way things used to be.’

Dr. Mark Osborne has been a teacher, school leader, consultant, author and speaker for almost thirty years. He has a PhD from the University of Melbourne in leading change when implementing innovative learning environments, and has worked with schools and school districts across the globe.
